Twisted Views: If they had the guts to do this today, why not five years later.

As I write my blog today, I was absent from class. The reason? A very heavy traffic that affected the National Highway in Calamba City and the SLEX (on the laguna part from the calamba interchnage) as well.

I hold no grudge to the INC nor I am a member of their arch-rival religiuos group. However, i was very pissed when I learn that the members of INC-Calabarzon region caused a very big traffic jam in Calamba and neighboring towns.

They are on the way to Aston Fields, a subdivision in Brgy. Tulo, Calamba City Laguna (located beside Carmelray Industrial Park 2), for their "convention" (or whatever). So all the vehicles carrying these believers will converge in Calamba City.

If you are not from the Cabuyao- Calamba City -Sto. Tomas (Batangas)-Tanauan (Batangas) area, nor you regulary travel by the SLEX on the way to Southern Luzon, I'll familiarize you with the situation. The regular choke points as of this writing are: In Calamba the San Juan Bridge (located near the calamba Interchange, where construction work is on-going); Brgy. Turbina (where the bus pick up and drop off point is located); Carmelray II Industrial Park (during changes of shift); Yazaki-Torres Mnfg.-Lyceum of the Phil. Univ.- Laguna area (during changes of shift of workers and off school hours) and Yakult Phils. Going the other way, the traffic will be at Calamba-Crossing and in Brgy. Halang at the intersection beside Hectan Building.

In Sto. Tomas
there are the First Philippine Industrial Park, that elicits heavy traffic that goes even well past Yakult in Calamba, and the bus stop-Sto. Tomas Public market area (kinda expected). In Tanauan, the Poblacion area is a choke point, but once you've passed by First Asia Institute of Techonology and Humanities, traffic will be a breeze.

To sum it up, the major choke points of the cities and town I have mentioned are due to rush hour activities.

So imagine thousands of INC members (could be more than a hundred thousand or so), loaded in thousands of vehicles adding up to the usual volume of traffic in the area...

You're right. Expect Pandemonium.

INC members might say, "We posted enough traffic advisory fot today's activity." However, they should be logical enough to know that what they are doing will cause a lot of harm to other people.

Take my sister's case for example. Her workshift begins at 9am. Normally, if she leaves our house by 7am, she will arrive to her workplace by 8:30 am. However, today, she arrived at almost 12 noon. WTF!

My college class is by 3pm. However, by 1pm, the jeepney operator's and driver seem to went on strike. Yup! there are no PUJs on the road. Who is foolish enough to waste diesel money on today's trip? I kinda understand them Lugi nga naman sa haba ng trapik.

Im sure I'm not the only one affected by today's event.

So what is my point in writng this blog? To tell INC that there are people who got pissed off by their 95th anniversary brouhaha.

We don't deserve a simple traffic advisory nor an apology. We need INc's reaasurance that they will never pull off such stupidity again. By Jove, this is only their 95th anniversary, so they should make careful decisions for their centennial celebration. Who knows what katontohan or kacoƱohan will be up their sleeves five years later.

May all of you INC go to hell for what you did (the here-brained activity) today.
